Have been driving about the South eating BBQ - not too bad a gig, just wish it paid more. Actually paid at all would be nice. Well - it is a fun hobby, how's that? Have a few more stops these next few weeks and will post some pics in upcoming blogs.

Took my daughter to school, it is her first week ever and watching her sit down and string huge wood beads warms my heart. : ) See, I meantioned beads.

I have been working through the recent loss of my Dad. He passed a week ago today. Visiting with dear friends soon and cross stitch will happen - cathartic cross stitch. Beads will be used and results posted in a couple weeks ...

Smoking BBQ Ribs

In among my heliotrope and other posies in a cement urn is this tightly woven bird's nest. Six speckled eggs live there full time and a skittish brown birdie that likes to hop rather than fly lives there part time.



Here is Mama Birdybird on her eggs, not to pleased with the papparazzi.



Welcome littles!



I am smoking baby back pork ribs out back today. One rack has a mustard based rub and the other a more traditional paprika/pepper based rub. It is an indirect heat and smoke, using chunks and chips of hickory soaked in water. Looks better than it tasted, sadly.



No bird's eggs will be harmed in the smoking of these ribs.

I thought about beads today, so that is something. But I am thinking about BBQ more. Tomorrow I fly solo smoking 2 racks of baby back ribs. Photos will be posted at each stage of the process. Bulldog is always more attentive when the smoker is in use.

I looked at beads today, but too tired to do much of anything with them. Skipping across the Eastern and Central time zones is not good for the equilibrium.
